If you need assistance with the referral process or have questions about therapy options, feel free to call us!

  • Speech/Language and Occupational Therapy evaluations generally take between 30 minutes to 1 hour each, and include a comprehensive assessment of the child’s skills using standardized tests, informal measures, observations, and parent interviews. If necessary, we may recommend referrals to specialists such as an ENT, audiologist, orthodontist, or another therapist. A detailed evaluation report will be provided, and if therapy is recommended, the results will be reviewed during the initial therapy session.

    1. Review of Results: Your child’s therapist will review the evaluation findings with you, explaining your child’s strengths and areas of need.

    2. Treatment Plan: Based on the evaluation, the therapist will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your child's specific goals and needs.

    3. Scheduling Ongoing Sessions: You’ll work with your child’s therapist to schedule therapy sessions that fit your child’s needs and your availability. Therapy sessions are typically scheduled on a recurring weekly basis.

    4. Continuing Support and Adjustments: As therapy progresses, the therapist will regularly assess your child's development and make adjustments to the treatment plan to ensure continued progress toward their goals. Progress reports will be completed by your therapist every 90 days, you will have access to your child’s notes and records through their Patient Portal.

Throughout the process, the team at Spark Therapy will maintain open communication with you, keeping you informed about your child’s progress and provide guidance on how to support therapy goals at home.

  • Yes, if your child is an appropriate candidate for teletherapy services then we can tailor services to be conducted through a live video visit. If clinically appropriate for your child, we will transition to teletherapy in the event of bad weather or lack of transportation to the office. Please talk to your child’s therapist if you are interested in teletherapy as your primary service model.

  • Not at all—no age is too young or too old for therapy services. At Spark Therapy, we provide pediatric speech and occupational therapy for individuals from birth through age 21. Therapy at an early age can be especially beneficial for young children, and older children, teens, and young adults can continue to gain meaningful skills and support through targeted therapy. Each age group has unique needs, and our therapists are trained to tailor services accordingly.

  • Services for Speech-Language Pathology are approximately 30 minutes in length. Occupational Therapy sessions last between 40-60 minutes. Therapists set aside time at the end of each session to share feedback and offer strategies to support your child at home. The length of your child’s session will be determined by the therapist to best fit your child’s needs.

  • Yes, families are always welcome. Your therapist will work with you to create a therapy routine that best supports both your child’s needs and your family’s preferences.

  • This is the question we’re asked most often—and it’s also the hardest to answer. The length of treatment can vary greatly, as it depends on many factors such as the severity of the delay, consistency with therapy, and how much practice takes place at home. In general, therapy is not a quick fix; it requires ongoing commitment and active support from the family to help the child progress.

  • At Spark Therapy, we believe consistency is key to achieving the best therapeutic outcomes. If you’re unable to attend a scheduled session, please notify us as soon as possible. We kindly ask that all absences be communicated at least 24 hours in advance.Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice—or missed appointments without notice—will result in a $50 fee, which will be charged to the credit card we have on file. If your child is ill we ask that you contact us as soon as possible, there will be no charge for cancellations due to illness. If you have any questions or need to cancel, please contact our office at (720) 230-8235 or your child’s therapist directly.

As part of the intake process, our team will contact your insurance company to verify benefits. We also accept private pay and all therapy services are Health Savings Account qualified. If you have out-of-network coverage and wish to submit claims directly to your insurance provider, we’re happy to provide a superbill for all services rendered.

  • If you have concerns about your child’s development, we recommend speaking with your child’s pediatrician or daycare provider. These professionals can offer valuable insight into how your child is progressing compared to same-age peers. Keep in mind that every child develops at their own pace and may excel in different areas.

You are also welcome to schedule a free screening with one of our speech-language pathologists or occupational therapists. After the screening is completed our clinicians can help determine appropriate next steps. Schedule a free screening through our Contact Us page.
